EU Foreign Ministers To Discuss Brexit Today

The impact of Brexit on Northern Ireland will be the focal point of discussions.

Brexit, and its impact on Northern Ireland, will be discussed by EU foreign ministers today.

The General Affairs Council is expected to formally accept the Windsor Framework, which was negotiated by British Government and EU officials last month.

However, DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson, says he wouldn't be supporting the new deal when it comes before the House of Commons tomorrow.

Speaking ahead of the council meeting in Brussels, Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence, Longford Westmeath TD Peter Burke, believes the new agreement will be approved:

The chair of a group of Eurosceptic Conservative MPs in Britain says its legal team has found parts of a revised post-Brexit Northern Ireland trade deal are "practically useless".

The so-called 'Windsor Framework' will be voted on in Westminster tomorrow.

Mark Francois heads the ERG.

He was most critical of what's supposed to be a veto for the Northern Ireland assembly to reject some EU rules.
