The Offaly TD wants businesses in the Midlands backed by the EU.
EU Just Transition Funding should be focused on boosting business alongside developing sustainability projects.
Offaly TD John Clendennen is making the comments after the latest Community Support Funding announcement from the EU Just Transition programme.
Just under 6 million euro is being granted for a range of midlands projects which includes 1.2 million in funding for the development of the vacant Dalton centre in Shannonbridge, and a new tourism office in Kilcormac.
