A petition to the European parliament for an investigation has been declared admissible.

Ireland's treatment of those affected by the mother and baby home scandal could be investigated by the European Union.

It's after a petition by The Coalition of Mother and Baby Home Survivors was declared admissible by the EU parliament.

A government commission investigation into the issue concluded in 2019.
