Fall In Midlands House Prices At End Of 2023

Each county in the region saw at least a 2.5% decrease.

There was an overall fall in house prices across the midlands in the last quarter of 2023.

Only Offaly saw a year-on-year decrease, while both Laois and Westmeath saw increases over the same period, according to Daft's latest report.

House prices decreased by 4.6% in Offaly, 3.6% in Westmeath and 2.8% in Laois in Q4 of 2023.

Westmeath had the highest priced homes, setting you back an average of over €264,000

Offaly and Laois has very little difference between them at €234,417 and €243,087 respectively.

Leitrim is the cheapest county to buy a home, at an average cost of just over €191,000, while South County Dublin is the most expensive at over €659,000.

The average price of a house in the Ireland currently stands at €320,046.

There's hope housing interest rates will decrease before the second half of this year, according to IPAV.
