Farmers’ Can't Face Further Cuts - Sorca Clarke

The TD wants assurances on their pay.

A Longford-Westmeath TD wants guarantees that farmers will not face cuts to their payments over the coming year.

A 1.3% charge is being introduced on the Department of Agriculture by Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers.

Due to an overspend in the Department of Education, the Agriculture is being asked to deliver €27 million in savings next year.

Sinn Fein's Sorca Clarke says farmers won't be able to live with cuts, given the year they've had so far.
