Fianna Fáil Take Over Two Top Positions In Offaly County Council

Declan Harvey and Robert McDermott will be Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach this year.

Fianna Fáil's Declan Harvey has been elected as Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council for the coming year. 

He takes over from Independent rep John Carroll. 

Councillor Harvey has been in local politics for over a decade since being elected to the town council in 2009. 

His party colleague Robert McDermott will take up the role as Leas Cathaoirleach.
