The Culture and Arts Minister has approved support of 100-thousand euro for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
Catherine Martin says the event is "a highlight of our cultural calendar and a welcome boost for local tourism."
The Fleadh is regarded as the world's largest annual celebration of Irish music, language, song and dance.
It's set to take place in Mullingar from the 6th to 14th of August.
"Music to our ears" is how the Fleadh Executive Committee in Mullingar has greeted the funding.
Organisers had previously voiced concern that finding funding for the festival, which is the World's largest annual celebration of Irish Music, was becoming a major problem.
