Housing Minister James Browne told the Cabinet yesterday about the work underway to better identify flood risks.

The aim is to provide more localised and accurate information to emergency services and communities in high-risk areas.

The new system will build on existing national flood forecasts and help people make better preparations when flooding is expected.
