The premises dates back to the early 19th century.
A fundraiser is taking place today at an ancient fort building turned cafe on the Offaly-Roscommon border.
Shannonbridge Fort and River Cafe was originally built by the British as a defence against Napoleon in the early 1800s.
Today, it functions as a seasonal cafe and historical site, and is the host of a coffee morning in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association today.
Owner Fergal Moran, who's family have been involved with the premises for 100 years, says the building has had many uses over the centuries:
