A fundraiser is taking place today at an ancient fort building turned cafe on the Offaly-Roscommon border.
Shannonbridge Fort and River Cafe was originally built by the British as a defence against Napoleon in the early 1800s.
Today, it functions as a seasonal cafe and historical site, and is the host of a coffee morning in aid of the Irish Wheelchair Association today.
