The report from the Irish Independent comes following a letter from the Irish Council of Civil Liberties which raised concerns about cameras in Leinster House.
A former Justice Minister says he raised concerns about the use of CCTV in Leinster House more than ten years ago.
The Irish Indepdent is reporting Laois Offaly TD Charlie Flangan wrote to Oireachtas authorities more than a decade ago, but was told there were no internal cameras, aside from at entraces and those necessary for broadcasting debates.

The cameras are made by Hikvision, a company which is partly owned by the Chinese Communist Party.
Equipment supplied by the company has been removed from government offices in Australia, the UK and the US.
