Former Laois STEM Engagement Officer Hopeful Regional Programme Will Return

The regional programme funded through the EU Just Transition Fund ended last month.

The closing of a €4 million STEM fund won't spell the end for learning when it comes to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the Midlands.

That's according to the now former Laois STEM Engagement Officer Seanie Morris following the programme's termination last month. 

The initiative led by Laois, Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath County Councils was funded by the EU Just Transition Fund and marked Ireland’s first region-wide STEM programme.

He says he's hopeful the initiative will return in the future:
