Several Fianna Fáil TDs want parents to face sanctions for their children’s criminal behaviour.
A former governor of Portlaoise Prison believes peer pressure is one of the main issues that need to be tackled when it comes to antisocial behaviour.
It comes as a number of Fianna Fail TDs call for parents to be hit with penalties if their children engage in criminal activity.
John Lonergan believes such a move would only make the situation worse.
