Gardaí say they issued a large number of fixed charge notices.
Four motorists have been arrested by midlands Gardai for intoxicated driving.
Three were arrested for drug driving, while Laois Offaly Divisional Gardai also stopped and arrested another for drink driving, during a checkpoint on the M7 Westbound near Borris in Ossory.
Gardai say they also made one drug seizure during the operation, and issued a "large number" of fixed charge notices.
In total, over 400 motorists were breathalysed and tested for drug use yesterday.
