The incident happened last night.
Four people have been brought to two midlands hospitals after a serious crash last night.
The incident involved just one car and occured at Esker Cross in Ballinalee, Longford at around 11.30pm.
Among the four occupants of the car taken to Tullamore and Mullingar hospitals, a man and woman in their 20s are being treated for serious, non-life threatening injuries.
The road is closed as Garda forensic collision investigators work on the scene, local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
