The facility would be located on St Fintan's Campus in Portlaoise.
Funding has been allocated to progress a proposed Laois Primary Care Centre.
The HSE has confirmed funding has been made available to progress the progress facility on St. Fintan's Campus in Portlaoise through the planning and design phase.
The Stage 1 Preliminary Design has been approved and the project is currently at scheme design Stage 2.
The Health Service says it expects to lodge an application for planning permission for the proposed project by the end of this year.
