A fundraiser launched to support the family of a midlands man who died from a rare and aggressive form of cancer has surpassed €100,000.

Offaly's James Dooley passed away from Lymphoma in October.

The GoFundMe money will support his wife Sharon and their four children, which are aged between three and nine.

The family say they want to help Sharon take time off work so she can support the children.

The initial target of €50,000 was smashed within three days.

Over 1,800 donations have been made so far, including a €10,000 donation from Grant Engineering.

Anyone who wishes to donate can do so here.
