Funeral For Fourth M9 Victim Takes Place

Jeremy O'Brien has been laid to rest.

The funeral of the fourth of the five teenage boys killed in the M9 crash has taken place in Carlow.

Jeremy O'Brien's funeral was held this morning.
Around 200 people attended the funeral of 18-year-old Jeremy O’Brien at the Holy Family Church in Askea this morning.

There was a heavy Garda presence on the outskirts of Carlow Town, but the funeral passed off peacefully.

During the Mass, mourners were asked to pray for the three sisters and young boy who were seriously injured in the crash and remain in hospital.

O’Brien was one of five teenagers killed when their car, travelling the wrong way on the M9, collided head-on with the family’s vehicle just over a week ago.

The final funeral, for Jack Kennedy, will take place in Athy tomorrow morning.
