The 49 year old is being held in Portlaoise Prison.
The Garda Commissioner says the operation to extradite Daniel Kinahan from Dubai had "lots of moving parts" but was "very successful."
The 49 year old was flown home on the Government jet, and landed at Casement Aerodrome in Dublin on Sunday.
He was then charged with directing the activities of a criminal gang between the 18th of October 2015 and the 6th of April 2017.
He's currently being held in Portlaoise Prison.
