Portlaoise Garda Station will serve as the main centre for Garda operations for the area, but is also currently only in the tender stage of renovation and expansion.
Minister for Public Expenditure, Paschal Donohoe, provided the update, and says there are seven Garda Stations in Laois and Offaly undergoing works.
