The incident took place at a barbers in the Irishtown area of Athlone on Tuesday at around 9:25 pm.
A rock was thrown through the front window and €400 cash was taken.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area between 9 - 10pm, or has CCTV footage to contact them.
Investigations are ongoing.
