Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information of a fatal car crash in Westmeath yesterday to come forward.
The single-car collision occurred in the Golden Island area of Athlone at about 2.10pm.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman aged in her 90s, was pronounced dead at the scene and her body removed to the mortuary at Mullingar Regional Hospital.
A technical examination of the scene has taken place and gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who many have dash cam footage of the incident.
