Gardaí Criticising Pursuit Training After Fatal Head-On Motorway Crash

The Police Ombudsman is investigating yesterday's crash.

Rank and file Gardaí are criticising the lack of pursuit trained members in the force.

The vast majority of members are not pursuit certified, meaning responsibility for collisions following chases could lie with the officers, depending on the outcome of an investigation.

Fiosrú, the Police Ombudsman, is investigating yesterday's crash on the M9, as sources say Gardaí came in contact with the BMW the teenagers were travelling in earlier in the night.
