Gardaí in Westmeath are investigating the cause of a fire at a recycling facility in the county over the weekend.
Large plumes of smoke were visible in the sky in Athlone after a fire at the Barna Recycling Facility in Garrycastle in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services, including Fire and Rescue Services from Athlone and Ferbane attended the scene of the blaze after getting a 5am call from a passer-by.
The fire was extinguished later that morning.
No injuries have been reported.
