Gardaí are investigating the armed robbery of a shop.
The man, who was armed with a long-bladed weapon and a gun, stole a sum of cash from the till of the premises in Derrinturn, Kildare, at around 6.30am this morning.
Gardaí say he was described as being tall, with a stocky build and was wearing Dark/ Black tracksuit bottoms, a Dark Grey Tracksuit Sweater, Black Runners and a Khaki Green Balaclava.
He was also carrying a black shoulder bag with a white pattern over his shoulder.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was in the Main Street area of Derrinturn at the time and may have mobile phone or dashcam footage to come forward.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station.
