Both incidents happened in separate areas of Mullingar on Saturday.
Gardaí are investigating a pair of burglaries that took place in Westmeath over the weekend.
The incidents are believed to have taken place between 7pm and 8.30pm in the Clonkill and Loughegar areas of Mullingar on Saturday evening.
The Irish Independent is reporting that a black Volkswagen hatchback was seen acting suspiciously at the time of the break-ins.
A number of personal items and a sum of cash have been stolen.
Gardaí have carried out technical examinations of both scenes.
