A woman was killed and another man was injured in the incident on Friday.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Laois.
A vehicle collided with two pedestrians in the Dunamese area of Stradbally on Friday, just after 1pm in the afternoon.
One of the pedestrians, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other, a man in his 60s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The occupants of the car involved in this collision were uninjured.
Any road users who may have camera or dash-cam footage are being asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station.
