A man is in a serious condition after the incident.
Gardaí are investigating a serious assault in Westmeath.
A man in his 30s was injured in the incident on Oliver Plunkett Street in Mullingar in the early hours of Monday, August 5th.
He was taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment, and remains in a serious condition.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the assault, particularly those with camera or dashcam footage, to get in touch with investigating officers.
