Dog owners are being urged to have their pet microchipped, and keep it under effectual control.
Dog owners are being reminded to secure their pet, after a sheep was killed in Laois.
The incident occurred in Emo in Laois, with Gardaí saying this is the time of the year when they see issues with dogs attacking livestock and killing sheep.
They are reminding pet owners dogs should not be allowed to roam, as it's currently lambing season.
Officers are also advising people to have their pet microchipped and registered with a vet, and to keep it under effectual control.
