GlowDepot The New Late Night City In The Woods For Electric Picnic

The GlowDepot crew is getting its own dedicated forest stage, bearing its name.

For years, the GlowDepot was a cult favourite at Electric Picnic. The chaotic upcycled shopping trolley, crowned with a glowing LED umbrella, would roll into the main arena after dark, drawing crowds with its pulsing, hypnotic light sequences and notoriously offloading its stash of glowsticks to unsuspecting festivalgoers.  

Now, 15 years on, that roaming piece of DIY festival folklore is stepping into the spotlight again. The GlowDepot crew is getting its own dedicated, eponymously named forest stage. Expect a space rooted in urban, underground and neo-soul music, with an electrifying celebration of Irish club culture after dark.  

Designed by Forja Works, the main stage takes inspiration from a retro petrol station canopy and has been created throughout the summer using upcycled plastics collected from music festivals across Ireland. Flanking the stage on both sides will be a sprawling urban cityscape created by art-rave collective Sacred Stone and featuring flashes of ’90s graffiti grit, crumbling concrete structures and nostalgic fragments of urban decay.  

By day, GlowDepot will host a stacked programme of emerging and established talent bringing a distinctive new sound to the woods. This year’s acts include Sugabooo, Avenue 68, Lil Skag, Outstraight Records, Fortune Igiebor, Jeorge II, Saibhin, Empty Internet, Smokey, Salamay, Mount Pyrus, Together As One, Danzi, and Phallout. Elsewhere, the underground rap collective Catacombs will curate an afternoon of music featuring Omen, Survival, Ruka, Beddyminaj, Nos, Jugo Yyung, Babyfacee, and Desires.  

After dark, The GlowDepot is set to become a new late-night party spot, presenting an electrifying celebration of Irish club culture. Acts include Ev Wilde, NewEra, Sloucho, JenTen, Jessica Maciel, Mo Cultivation, Asylum Residents, Boss Events, Manwelli, Mills, Vasuki Red, and RNL. For early patrons to the festival, King Kong Company will launch the new stage on Thursday night with a special DJ set.

GlowDepot’s basketball-themed side stage, “Courtside,” will be powered by festival veterans Super Average DJs, with the Courtside Caravan featuring DJs and performers each day. This year’s line-up includes Aneta Moran Sax, SX2, DJ Chartini, Kiki D, Mick G, Mookie, Fergal D'Arcy, Bren Curtis, Thxtti, Nancy Wilde, Nia Byrd, DJ Ozz G, and DJ Bongani.  

Throughout the weekend, Dirty Circus will be hosting pop-up performances and roaming theatrical entertainment. On the Sunday morning of the festival, they will host a very special Dirty Breakfast show featuring DJ Betzy Nina.  

The GlowDepot is curated by Alan Mulhall and John Kenny, with music and production support from Fluttertone.
