Cabinet Advance Easing Of Defense Funding Restrictions

It's hoped the IDA and Enterprise Ireland will no longer need government approval to award funds for defence companies.

The Cabinet will advance plans to ease restrictions on Irish companies involved in the defence sector this morning.
 
Up to now the IDA and Enterprise Ireland had to seek government approval to award funds to companies operating in that sector.  
 
Minister Peter Burke is seeking to change that with a view to allowing Irish companies to bid for more funding in Europe for defence spending.
