The government is "ambitious" when it comes to the development of railways in the midlands.
That's according to Junior Transport Minister, Jack Chambers as the All Island Strategic Rail Review was published at the end of last month.
The review recommends re-instating the Athlone to Mullingar route, along with the electrification and decarbonisation of several other rail lines in the midlands.
