Former IDA chair, Athlone's Fergal O'Rourke is a member of the Accelerating Infrastructure Taskforce.

A member of the Accelerating Infrastructure Taskforce says the group will be working to cut back on the red tape for capital projects.

30 actions have been set to reduce building time, with responsible bodies to report on a monthly basis to the group.

Uisce Eireann's handling of building wastewater treatment plants falls under that category.

Athlone's Fergal O'Rourke is a member of the taskforce and a former IDA chair.

He says it's time to modernise the process:
