Government Must Intervene To Save Midlands Jobs

A former Minister says the state needs to provide funding immediately.

A former environment minister is calling for the government to immediately intervene to save 2,000 jobs in the midlands. 

Unions representing staff in Bord na Móna claim the company is in 'dire' financial straits and expects job losses within the next month.

Unions are calling for an urgent 'just transition' plan to help the company as it phases out peat-harvesting.
