Government Spend Triple On Ploughing In Carlow Compared With Offaly

In total - more than €1.6 was spent.

Government officials spent three times more attending the ploughing championships in Carlow than in Offaly. 

In total - over 1.6m was spent compared to €505,000 in 2018. 

The Office of Public Works payed out €1.3m for marquees, tents and fencing at the event. 

While it cost a further 243,000 to feed and house just under 600 civil servants that attended the championships.
