Green Light Given For Former Laois Pub To Turn Into Hostel

Swans Public House in Clonaslee will be turned into a hostel.

Plans to turn a former Laois pub into a hostel at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains have been given the green light this week.

The owner of the Swan Public House, says they're aiming to revitalise Clonaslee village. 

Jam and Olives Ltd want to turn The Swan Public House into a hostel. 

Laois County Council have granted planning permission for the new development, subject to 17 conditions.

The plans for the vacant pub include a 29 bed capacity over 7 bedrooms with a common room, dining room and self-catering kitchen. 

The new accommodation aims to boost tourism around the Slieve Bloom mountains.
