A Laois auctioneer feels growing industry is behind rising house prices in the county.
The latest Geowox Housing Report for Q3 of 2025 shows the median cost of a house in Portlaoise is up 21.2%.
Prices are up from €280,000 up to €339,000, which is the biggest increase in the Midlands, and the third biggest of any town in country.
Meanwhile, prices in Mullingar are up by 10.6% to €365,000, and a house in Tullamore will now set you back by €291,000, up by 4.7%.
