The Department of Health's top civil servant will face questions later about the now-abandoned secondment of Dr. Tony Holohan to Trinity College Dublin.
An independent report into the botched appointment found clear contradictions between Robert Watt's account and that of another senior civil servant, Deidre Gillane.
In a submission to the inquiry, Ms Gillane said the information Mr Watt gave about her involvement was 'wholly without foundation'.
The secondment was eventually abandoned amid controversy surrounding salary arrangements.
