Confusion has been swirling around the number of beds available in the future.
The HSE says there are no plans to reduce respite provision at a midlands nursing unit.
There had been fears the number of beds available for respite services in Birr Community Nursing Unit would be scaled back.
But, the Health Service says clients continue to be offered beds, and there are also two private nursing homes in the area, in Banagher and Shinrone, accommodating families.
