Higher Education Minister Accepts Student Costs Are Too High

Simon Harris was in the midlands to speak at TUS yesterday.

The Minister for Further and Higher Education wants to see a 'pipeline' of new student accommodation in the midlands next year.

Simon Harris was speaking at the launch of TUS Athlone's new multi-million euro Apprentice Block, which will create capacity for up 1,000 new apprentices.

He's encouraging Technological Universities to submit plans for new student accommodation, which can then be supported by Government.

Minister Harris says he wants to see reduced education costs as a priority in the upcoming budget:
