Homelessness Crisis Is No Quick Fix - Darragh O'Brien

The Housing Minister has been speaking at National Ploughling Championships in Ratheniska.

The Housing Minister says the housing crisis couldn't be solved in 12 or 24 months.

190 people were homeless in the midlands in July, which is the first drop in figures since February of this year.

Nationally, however, the number of people accessing emergency accommodation once again reached record levels, at 12 thousand 847.

Nearly 4,000 of those were children.
