Housing Minister Has No Timeline For Reduction in Homelessness

He says the Government is scaling up housing delivery.

The Housing Minister says the homelessness crisis will be a challenge over the next couple of years and he cannot say when numbers will start to fall.

James Browne told the Irish Examiner that current housing output and the number of cost-rental and social homes are not meeting demand.

He says while the Government is scaling up housing delivery, it should get ahead of population growth and build more homes.

In April, there were 333 adults and children in emergency accommodation in the Midlands.
