Housing Plans Being Considered In Former Midlands Train Station Feasibility Study

The Westmeath station has been closed since the 1960s, but locals have campaigned for its re-opening for over 20 years.

Housing plans must be considered when looking at the possibility of re-opening a former midlands train station.

That's according to the Transport Minister, Eamon Ryan, who says Irish Rail are continuing to examine the feasbility of re-opening Killucan Train Station

There's been a 20 year campaign to get the site, which has been closed since the 1960s, back up and running again.

The Green Party Leader says they're thinking about convenience for the people who live nearby:
