Over 2,600 new housing commencement notices were filed in the past month.
Over 11,000 new homes commenced since the start of the year.
The numbers for the first three months of 2026 mark a 176% increase on the same period last year.
Department of Housing figures show over 2,600 commencement notices for new homes were lodged last month alone.
Most of those were in Fingal, followed by Dublin City and County Westmeath.
56% are scheme dwellings, more than a quarter are apartments and 449 are one-off units.
