The health service is ramping up its winter flu vaccination campaign, with people aged between of 2 and 17 and over 65, healthcare works, those with long-term health conditions and anyone who's pregnant encouraged to get the jab.
Dr. Fiona Maguire from the HSE Midlands Public Health Department is warning this winter could be the first time we see the real effects of both flu and covid infections.
She says it's important to get the updated flu vaccine every year:
