HSE Midlands Warns To Plan Ahead Of Bank Holiday Weekend

It's asking people to use the most appropriate healthcare service.

HSE Midlands is urging the public to plan ahead this August Bank Holiday.

It's asking people to use the most appropriate healthcare service for their needs.

Anyone with non-emergency illnesses or injuries should contact their GP, GP Out-of-Hours service, local pharmacy or Injury Unit instead of attending busy Emergency Departments.

Emergency Departments remain available for urgent and life-threatening cases, with the sickest patients prioritised for treatment.

The public is also being reminded to stay Sun Smart by following the "5 S's" of sun safety and to take extra care around water during the holiday weekend.

Anyone experiencing a serious illness or injury should call 999 or 112 immediately.
