The HSE is planning to progress energy upgrades at Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar by submitting a tender for a new energy centre.
It's under capital investment works worth €6.5m from their Sustainable Infrastructure Office.
Works began last month with new gas boilers already installed at the hospital, alongside ongoing maintenance works like air unit upgrades and fitting new solar panels.
Estates Manager at HSE's Sustainable Infrastructure Office Vincent Brennan says all these works are part of continued investment into the hospital:
