Human Trafficking Branded As Heinous Crime By Minister

Two Nigerian women were jailed for between five and six years for the offence in Mullingar.

The Criminal Justice Minister says human-trafficking is 'a heinous crime' that won't be tolerated, after a historic sentencing in the Midlands yesterday. 

Two Nigerian women were jailed for between five and six years for the offence in Mullingar, for their role in a prostitution ring. 

They were the first two sentences for human-trafficking in Ireland. 

Minister of State, Hildegarde Naughton, is welcoming the outcome of the case.
