IFA Calling For Licensing Of BTV 3 Vaccines

It follows recent outbreaks of Bluetongue disease.

The IFA wants the Agriculture Minister to immediately move to have BTV 3 vaccines licensed and available for use.

It's due to the outbreak of Bluetongue disease in two cows north of the border near Bangor in County Down.

A 20 kilometre temporary control zone has been brought in due to the disease which is spread by infected biting midges.

It doesn't pose a risk to human health, but can be devastating to herds.
