IFA Criticise Compulsory Purchase Orders For Greenways

The farming body feel it do not regard farmer's livelihoods at present.

The Irish Farmers Association is calling for a more inclusive process when it comes to greenway development.

The farming body has raised the issue to the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee, saying that Compulsory Purchase Orders  for Greenway development do not regard farmer's livelihoods.

A Code of Practice has been developed by them on the matter, to put some protections in place for landowners when it comes to voluntary land acquisition.
