The Irish Farmers Association is renewing its call for tighter rules on farmland inheritance tax benefits.
The IFA says wealthy investors are benefitting from lower valuation loopholes, which allow them to transfer land to their son or daughter without paying capital gains tax.
At the moment, land must be farmed for a minimum of six years to qualify for tax exemptions.
The IFA wants that period to be increased to 15 years.
